BLOCK NOISE WITH SOUNDPROOF WINDOW INSERTS

Home and Office Soundproofing

Soundproof Existing Windows for a More Peaceful Space

Cost-effectively soundproof any room in your home or office with our soundproof window inserts and doors. Imagine stopping low-pitched noise up to 75% (traffic, A/C compressors, etc.) and up to 95% of high-pitched noise (bus brakes, pool pumps, etc.).

We are a full-service soundproof window insert company, meaning the price includes everything from measuring to installation. We can install most soundproof window inserts in a day and quickly make your home, apartment, or office a more quiet, productive place. Plus, you’ll save on energy since the windows also insulate against cold and heat.

Soundproof Window Inserts Manufactured in Texas, for Texans

Sun and Sound Windows has proudly served Texas customers for 15 years, in over 630 Texas ZIP codes. Our service concentrations are in the major metropolitan areas of Houston, Austin, and Dallas/Fort Worth, as well as areas nearby in between.

WHAT ARE SOUNDPROOF WINDOW INSERTS?

Most importantly, they are not replacement windows. They’re laminated glass (acoustic glass) inserts that we install inside your window recess in the interior wall, between your existing windows and your blinds, shades, shutters, curtains, or drapes. They’re ideal for residential and commercial windows since they don’t change the look of your home or office, and they comply with homeowners’ association regulations.

We don’t offer replacement windows because their sound abatement ratings are far below the minimum STC rating of 40. In fact, most double-pane replacements are only STC 28-30.

We can make custom sizes and shapes and usually install them in one day or less without messy construction.

Benefits

  • – Insulate against unwanted noises from traffic, construction, outdoor equipment, and more.
  • – Protect against energy loss, both cold and heat.
  • – Reduce the ultraviolet light that fades carpets and furniture.
  • – Minimize window condensation.
    – Decrease drafts and allergens.

HOW DO SOUNDPROOFING WINDOW INSERTS WORK?

The air gap that is created between the soundproof window insert and the existing window produces an insulated sound trap, where sound waves are absorbed, reflected, and canceled. The result is a much lower volume of sound that makes it through the sound trap into the room. The air gap also reduces energy loss by 60% per window.

The seal of our soundproof window inserts is important because sound can act like water, seeping through openings. Our infiltration rate is less than .01 cfm/lineal foot, which exceeds the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). Please note that “soundproof” drapes or curtains typically do not have a seal around them, allowing sound to enter the edges of drapes or curtains unabated.

INSERT PRICING & INSTALLATION

Prices depend on the number of inserts installed, size, shape, type of window treatments, installation requirements, and other factors. We are a full-service soundproof window insert company, meaning the price includes everything from measuring to installation. We do not sell a DIY version of our products because installing, adjusting, and customizing your inserts for a tight fit in each of your windows is essential to effective soundproofing.

In most cases, we can install your soundproof window inserts within six to eight weeks after receiving your 50% down payment. We usually install residential projects in one to two days.

I live in a 1920’s bungalow in the Montrose area with beautiful original windows … however, they are drafty. You can see the curtains move. Not any more. I stand by them on cold days now and cannot tell it’s cold, which means I can leave my curtains open. One of my concerns was appearances, as I am all about not cheapening the historical look of my house. The Sun and Sound Window frames are so small, if I don’t point them out to visitors, they don’t realize I have them. I had two rooms put in as a trial and immediately called them back to do the rest of the rooms. Having these installed is much cheaper to what replacing the windows would entail in cost and time. The crew was efficient and fast. Took one afternoon each time to install the windows.

I can’t believe how much cooler the rooms are now with our window inserts, especially the ones that face west. One of them was set up as an office and I dreaded working in there during the day due to the heat. You either had to turn your air-conditioning thermostat down (for the whole house) or turn the ceiling fan on high, which blew your papers all around. Now it’s totally comfortable! An added plus is the sound from the street and a nearby freeway is gone

My biggest reason for buying window inserts was for sound. I live in a neighborhood with lots of children, and after they were installed, I was able to relax, read or watch TV without any distractions. Also, a tree had fallen and broken one of my windows this year. Not only did the soundproof window insert keep the broken glass from coming in to the house, it kept all of the rain out too. As far as the energy savings, they have paid for themselves many times over.

You have the power to solve your noise problems! I did and my condo is dead silent!

I have a one-bedroom on a low floor facing Sixth Street and the bars. My condo should be among the noisiest in the building, but it is dead silent with the soundproofing. I never hear cars/traffic and don’t hear most of the music. The only times I am slightly bothered are Friday and Saturday nights after 10/11 pm-ish when the music is playing and I am trying to fall asleep. The low base does creep through and is very noticeable… but that is easily solved by playing my own music. A loud fan or white noise machine will also work well. I do hear the occasional garbage truck pick-up slamming early in the morning, but that is about it. For living in the heart of downtown, I am extremely pleased.

I worked with Richard, who was excellent. He came once to take exact measurements and then again about 1-2 weeks after to install the windows. ProHome can’t fix my doorbell after three months and my Miele refrigerator still doesn’t cool, so it was a pleasure to have a vendor get it perfect the first time! Imagine that!! The windows also look great, which was very important to me. Based on all the noise complaints, this may have been the best investment I have made.
